Progress From Rwanda

Same Sky recently received progress reports from some of our artisans in Rwanda. It is because of your unwavering support that each of these updates is filled with growth and hope. Thank you.
Below is the complete translation of their letters to us. Enjoy!
Cecile Gupenda :
The last time we heard from Cecile, she was happy to be able to feed her children and she was taking big steps out of depression.
“Greetings to my best friends—to these friends I send God’s blessings everyday. I am happy to write to you and share how my family is doing, and to share what I have achieved since we last met. I have now put a water source in my home. My two children have been able to attend secondary school because now I can manage their tuition and other needs. I thank you so much for everything. And I thank you
for your continued support.”
Brigitte Nyampiga:
Brigitte had just gotten out of government housing and moved her family to a home of their own, when last we saw her.
“I am happy to write you all with an update on how my children and I are doing since we last met. We thank God for keeping us well. Because of the money I have been earning, I have managed to buy two windows for the house! My children and I are so grateful for this. We appreciate your commitment in supporting us and we keep you all in our prayers. God Bless.”
Jeanne D’Arc Gahongayire :
Jeanne D’Arc is a new artisan to Same Sky, this is her first progress report.
“I am so pleased to write to you and update you on how my family and I are doing. In my daily life, my health has been steadily improving. I thank God for this. Through the work I do for Same Sky, I have managed to buy a goat and a chicken for rearing. Now I can pay the new revised health insurance rates for my whole family—they are almost twice as much as we used to pay. My sincere gratitude to the team, supporters, and clients of Same Sky!”
Clemantine Nyirahabimana :
On the last visit to Rwanda, Clementine’s health had improved drastically and she had opened her own bank account.
“Greetings from my family… We are all doing well and we thank God for that. As you are aware, I live in a rented house. With my earnings, I am able to pay my rent, buy food for the family, and manage other things we need in life. I manage to pay for all of this through my work making bracelets. I have bought health insurance for myself and for my children, and now I am able to pay tuition for them to
attend school. I have also started school! Thank you, and God bless you and your team at Same Sky!”
Speciose Mukamurigo :
Earlier, Speciose had just gotten electricity!
“To my parent Francine and the Same Sky team—I hope you all are doing well and I thank God for your invaluable support. Since we last spoke, I have managed to a goat! I am still managing to pay the rent on our house and feed my family. We thank you all.”
