What is fair trade jewelry?
Fair Trade is a trading partnership based on transparency that provides both the creator and the buyer with sustainable development and a fair income. Fair trade jewelry organizations like SAME SKY are actively concerned with promoting awareness and changing the rules of conventional practices of international trade. SAME SKY promotes the stability of our artisan’s in Rwanda and Zambia by paying them 15 to 20 times the average Sub Saharan wage, which in turn effects the prosperity of their families and rural communities.
How much income do SAME SKY artisans receive from making SAME SKY bracelets?
SAME SKY artisans earn an income that is substantially greater than the average wage earned by most women in Sub-Saharan Africa. SAME SKY artisans are paid per bracelet and are given a salary at the end of each working week. On top of their salary, they are given a hot meal daily at work and a transportation stipend to and from work.
How does my purchase impact SAME SKY artisans?
With your purchase, you are able to provide SAME SKY artisans with a sustainable income that is far greater than the average living wage earned in Sub-Saharan Africa. The more sales and orders we generate, the more women we can employ and provide with sustainable incomes. Your purchase enables women artisans to provide food, shelter, healthcare, education, school uniforms and more to themselves and their families. As many of our artisans are HIV-positive, their immunity systems have also strengthened and red blood cell level intakes have increased.
What does ‘trade-not-aid’ initiative mean?
SAME SKY believes in not only providing our artisans with an income, but also training them with a marketable skill and providing them with a viable platform for the sale and distribution of their products. We believe in sustainable employment, which allows the artisans to become their own entrepreneurs. “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime…”
How long will it take for my order to be processed?
Orders placed Monday-Friday before 5pm EST will begin processing that day, excluding holidays, and will ship within 48 hours pending credit card approval and availability. All orders placed on Friday after 5pm EST will be processed on the following Monday. SAME SKY will email you once your order is shipped.
What are my shipping options and how long will it take to receive my order?
SAME SKY uses FedEx as our carrier. We offer several shipping options including FedEx Ground FedEx Express Saver, FedEx Overnight, FedEx Priority Overnight, and FedEx Expedited Shipping.
Are there any shipping restrictions?
SAME SKY is unable to ship to PO Boxes under any circumstances.
Do you offer gift wrapping?
SAME SKY offers gift wrapping for an additional charge of $2.00 as an option in your shopping cart before checkout. SAME SKY also provides the option to include a message with the gift for a charge of $1.00.

What is your return and exchange policy?
Exchanges are accepted on merchandise within 30 days of receiving your goods. SAME SKY only offer returns if merchandise arrives damaged. Please note: shipping and handling charges are non-refundable.
How do I exchange an item?
You must first send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org before you send any merchandise back. When your return is approved, you will receive further instructions on how to complete your return. Please securely pack and seal the return merchandise, and include a copy of the invoice with a note explaining your reason for the exchange. Once we receive the return merchandise, we will send out your exchange within three working days.

Do you charge sales tax?
Sales tax is charged only to states where SAME SKY website has a physical presence. Currently, SAME SKY has a physical presence in New York. The sales tax in New York is 8.875%.
How do I know if an item will fit me?
Our bracelets come in sizes small and medium. A small bracelet fits a wrist that is 6-7 inches. A medium bracelet fits a wrist that is 7.5 to 8.5 inches. Please note that your bracelet will stretch to fit your wrist comfortably with time.
What happens is a thread is sticking out of my bracelet?
Don’t worry about it! Simply cut the thread that is sticking out. The bracelet will not fall apart as it is crocheted tightly and securely.
What happens if I break a bead off by accident?
Again, don’t stress about it. One bead falling off will not cause the bracelet to fall apart. There are 150 – 160 beads on each bracelet so one or even two beads falling off will not change the aesthetic of the bracelet or the durability. Please remember that the the beads are glass and to be delicate with your bracelet.
How can I modify my order?
