Miss Universe Foundation Partnership

The Miss Universe Organization and Same Sky have partnered to promote the message of women empowerment and to bring attention to HIV/AIDS awareness and education globally. In June 2010, Miss Universe 2009, Stefania Fernandez, and Miss USA 2010, Rima Fakih accompanied SAME SKY Founder, Francine LeFrak, on a trip to Rwanda where they visited the women artisans, met with President Paul Kagame and First Lady Jeannette Kagame, participated in a Parliament meeting and paid their respects to the Genocide Memorial.

SAME SKY recognizes the exceptional work the Miss Universe Organization has done to help empower women worldwide and for their advocacy of the “trade-not-aid” model as an innovative and effective approach to alleviating poverty and helping women achieve financial independence.

The Miss Universe Organization, a Donald J. Trump and NBCUniversal joint venture, is a global community empowering role models of beauty, health and leadership for young women of today. As part of the Miss Universe Organization, Miss Universe, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA are dedicated to partnering with likeminded organizations around the world.
